I'm Ada Acar — an economics and finance student who takes economic and financial mechanisms apart to understand how they actually work, using data-driven research to do it. I build models that hold up under pressure, on the desk and on the water.
I'm a third-year economics and finance student at Bilkent University, treating my training as a way to build a serious technical toolkit — the quantitative foundation to produce rigorous analysis and, just as importantly, to build: the models, tools, and solutions that economic and financial systems run on.
What drives me is taking economic and financial mechanisms apart to understand how they actually function. Data analysis and econometrics are how I get there — I treat a market, a pricing rule, or a policy as something to be reverse-engineered, then test the explanation against the evidence rather than my intuition. The same instinct that makes for clean research makes for products that solve real problems, which is where I think this toolkit earns its keep — including for early-stage teams that need someone who can both reason about a domain and ship against it.
I also founded and lead Bilkent's Snow Sports Club — building one of the university's first outdoor sports communities from the ground up, from its early member base through to running events and operations. Away from the screen, I sail a Hobie 16, fish, and play chess.
Options pricing, the Greeks, and volatility surface construction across VIOP market structure — built in Python from Black-Scholes to Monte Carlo.
Three-statement modeling, DCF, and pitch-book construction — working from primary filings through to a defensible enterprise value.
A dynamic optimization model of when to restrain AI adoption — labor share and capital as state variables, with bifurcation analysis and simulation.
Causal inference and time-series work — DiD, IV/2SLS, panel methods, and GARCH volatility modeling with robust standard errors.
Desk-side work on VIOP instruments — options pricing, Greeks, and volatility surface construction in a live trading environment.
Valuation and deal support at a leading Turkish boutique investment bank — DCF, three-statement modeling, and pitch materials.
Founded and lead one of Bilkent's first outdoor sports communities — built the early member base from zero and run event planning and club operations.
Supported cost, workforce, and progress tracking across active infrastructure projects, with data organization and cross-functional coordination under tight operational constraints.
Whether it's research, a desk, or a venture worth building — I'd be glad to talk.
